In this project we were asked to create vehicles and building models with UVs.
Our team began by creating some lay out plans for our street scene and diving the buildings and objects which needed modeling between everyone.
I began this project by modeling a corner building for the street scene my team was working on. In order for it to fit into the slightly vintage feel of the scene and make it seem like an older street I was asked to place a turret like structure on the building.
We also felt that our scene needed a town clock so I began creating rough designs for one and began modeling. The first clock designed was too boxy and looked a bit too much like a cartoon clock tower. So I created some pillars in the second design to make it more interesting and appealing. The second design go more positive feed back from my team than the first.
I was asked to create a few objects for placing in the street. I felt that a potted plant would probably be best for the scene as it would not be an uncommon thing to see out on the street.
I painted some UVs to make the tree look more interesting.
I believe that my final design for the potted plant turned out quite well and looked nice in the scene.
Emma was modeling the body of the car for this project so I offered to do the interiors.
I decided that keeping the cars Dashboard as simple as possible was in our best interest as we never see more that the steering wheel through the window.
The seats I modeled worked well and all of the interior fitted nicely into the car once I sent it to Emma.
I was assigned the task of creating some furnishings for our scene. These were my favorite objects to model and seem to have turned out very well. I designed an ice cream parlor table and stool for our ice cream shop as well as for use as part of an out door cafe. I also created a much more standard table and chair for the Chinese restaurant being designed by Nathan. The glassware I designed as a way of dressing the tables also turned out quite well.
